  Initially I Had a early positive car buying experience at Autotrade Birmingham, they have friendly positive sales staff. Let me tell you about my after sales experience. Within the first month we had a few none starts due to a dead battery at first I thought maybe my wife or myself had left something on in the car so just thought it would be okay, however when we had a real bad cold snap around a month ago we had one dead battery after another I kept on fully recharging it but within a day it would be flat again I then took the car to a few garages who confirmed that the battery was at fault and that it was probably faulty when I had bought the car & the recent sub zero temperatures had shown up the problem. I went back to Autotrade where I had bought the car who confirmed that the battery was at fault and they would sell me a new one at cost price, I explained that the garages where I took the car had said that the fault was probably there when I bought the car & only the recent low temperatures had shown up the fault, I then asked Autotrade if they would replace the battery as a gesture of good will but they refused saying that they just could not do that & I should have bought the car back earlier, I explained to them that the fault had only shown itself up properly with this recent cold snap but they still refused & asked me if I wanted the car bought back round from there on site garage, at this point I could see that I wasn't going get anywhere with them so I asked them to bring the car round & I would wait outside. By the way I paid £200 for a one year extra guarantee which surprise, surprise did not cover the battery. I was happy buying my car from Autotrade Birmingham & I would have most likely have gone back there to buy another car in the future but I now feel very disappointed & let down by them. If your thinking of buying a secondhand car then Autotrade Birmingham is one of the better places to choose from plus the sales staff there will make it a nice, friendly, positive buying experience but on the other hand don't expect any gestures of good will after you have bought your car as you may be left very disappointing. Thank you for your reply to my review As I explained in the review I started having a few none starts within the first month of ownership which over time with the weather getting colder started getting a whole lot worse also the garages where I took the car did say that the battery was probably faulty when I purchased the car, the fact that I did my review In January does not take away that I was having problems with the car shortly after I bought it. I was wondering if your highest standard of preparation included doing a battery voltage drop test? which as you know would have shown up the fault straight away. By the way, was I supposed to be grateful that you offered me a new battery at trade price with free fitting? when I strongly felt that you should have given the benefit of the doubt and replaced the battery free of charge anyway. Surely this small cost to your company for replacing the battery would have been worth it for continued good customer relations.
